Castilla-La Mancha positions itself as a reference in cloud computing

The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has highlighted the successful positioning of the region in the field of cloud computing. This achievement is attributed to the fruitful collaboration between the public and private sectors, a strategy that the regional government has actively promoted in recent years.

Public-private collaboration: key to success

Juan Pedro De Ruz, Director General of Artificial Intelligence of the regional government, emphasized the importance of this synergy during his participation in the event “IBM’s Cloud for the Public Sector,” held recently in Madrid. De Ruz pointed out that instruments such as the Regional Center for Digital Innovation (CRID), located in Talavera de la Reina and featuring IBM, have been fundamental in achieving this favorable positioning.

Strong commitment to digital transformation

The Director General also highlighted the commitment of the regional government to digital transformation. Castilla-La Mancha has distinguished itself as one of the most effective administrations in obtaining and implementing European Next Generation funds for digitalization.

The ‘cloud’ as a strategic tool

Cloud computing has become a crucial element in the region’s digital transformation strategy. De Ruz emphasized that the ‘cloud’ is one of the main tools and is playing a vital role in this initiative.

Talavera de la Reina has been chosen as the location for Meta’s future data centers in Spain and is also home to the data center of Oasixcloud from the Aire Group.

Future outlook

The success of Castilla-La Mancha in the field of cloud computing bodes well for the region in terms of technological innovation and economic development. The continued collaboration between the public and private sectors, along with the effective use of European funds, positions the autonomous community as a benchmark in digital transformation at the national level.
