Capgemini partners with Microsoft to drive resilient digital transformation

Capgemini has announced the strengthening of its strategic partnership with Microsoft to provide clients with a comprehensive managed cloud services model. This fully integrated solution is designed to incorporate key aspects such as digital sovereignty, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity throughout the entire business and technological transformation process.

Through this alliance, the company aims to promote end-to-end sovereign solutions that help organizations accelerate adoption of the Microsoft Sovereign Cloud portfolio and advanced artificial intelligence tools. The combination of Capgemini’s industry expertise with Microsoft’s sovereign cloud capabilities will enable business leaders to access specialized guidance, clear options, and the security needed to innovate responsibly.

As part of this collaboration, Capgemini will also support companies in defining and executing their digital sovereignty strategies through detailed assessments that help set objectives, identify risks, and develop practical recommendations tailored to each organization. This approach is complemented by operational resilience scenarios that facilitate regulatory compliance and ensure business continuity in the face of potential disruptions. Additionally, clients will be able to combine sovereignty and innovation by selecting the most suitable cloud solution—be it sovereign public cloud, private cloud, or national partner clouds—and rely on resilience plans prepared to address regulatory, geopolitical, or operational changes.

Business leaders are making critical decisions in an increasingly complex environment, where innovation must be balanced with sovereignty and regulatory compliance. By deepening our partnership with Microsoft, we aim to combine our expertise and innovative AI solutions that our clients need to make confident decisions,” states Aiman Ezzat, CEO of Capgemini. “As a trusted partner in AI-driven technological and business transformation, we help organizations integrate sovereignty throughout the entire transformation cycle, enabling them to progress while managing risk and meeting regulatory requirements.”

Sovereignty has become a critical aspect for organizations that want to fully leverage the potential of cloud and artificial intelligence while maintaining complete control over their data and operations. Through our collaboration with Capgemini, we intend to offer tailored solutions for Microsoft Sovereign Cloud, including sovereign public cloud, sovereign private cloud, and national partner clouds, to empower organizations, enhance their resilience, and generate significant business impact—all while ensuring their data and AI systems remain protected and compliant,” affirms Judson Althoff, CEO of Microsoft Commercial Business.

Building on this alliance, Capgemini plans to develop industry-specific solutions across sectors such as financial services, public sector, defense, telecommunications, life sciences, manufacturing, and critical national infrastructure. To help organizations adopt digital sovereignty and AI capabilities confidently and clearly, Capgemini and Microsoft intend to offer:

  • Sovereignty by Design for Digital Transformation and AI: driving AI-based transformation that respects local laws, sector regulations, and data requirements. This includes industry-specific accelerators and tools for data classification, legacy system modernization, and the development of trustworthy AI solutions that facilitate quicker adoption of the cloud and AI, ensuring sensitive workloads are properly classified, governed, and located in the appropriate environment.
  • Intelligent Risk and Compliance Management: providing a comprehensive view of sovereignty, compliance, and risk via Microsoft’s sovereign public cloud, sovereign private cloud, and national partner clouds, through integrated control and governance models that enhance visibility and ensure more efficient regulatory adherence.
  • Operational Continuity and Resilience: helping organizations maintain business continuity in the face of cybersecurity incidents, geopolitical shifts, or regulatory changes. Clients will be able to run workloads on Microsoft’s sovereign public cloud, sovereign private cloud, and national partner clouds, with pre-approved resilience scenarios ready for activation, thus protecting critical business systems.
  • Automated Data Protection: offering cybersecurity and encryption services driven by AI, specifically designed for sovereign environments. Examples include data confidentiality and encryption, identity and access controls, real-time threat detection, and industry-specific security accelerators.

With a partnership that spans over two decades, Capgemini and Microsoft have supported clients across multiple sectors in their cloud transformation journeys. Additionally, in 2024, Capgemini and Orange launched Bleu, a trusted cloud partner created jointly in France to meet the specific cloud needs of the French government, public agencies, hospitals, regional authorities, Critical Infrastructure Operators (CIO), and Essential Service Operators (ESO), delivering services based on Microsoft cloud technologies.
