Consulting and management firm Essor Services has partnered with Costa Rican clean energy company Kaia Energy to carry out this pioneering initiative. According to a recent statement on LinkedIn, the founder and president of Kaia Energy emphasized the importance of this project: “We will humbly build the energy and data infrastructure needed to support this transition, all powered by carbon-negative waste energy. The world will come to know Burkina Faso, Africa, as one of the most progressive countries on any continent.”
Project Details
The project involves the installation of a power plant that will turn household waste into electricity for a new data center. The plant is expected to generate around 12MW of electricity, as reported by Matin Libre. Although other project specifications have not been shared yet, construction is expected to begin in October of this year.
Kaia Energy, specializing in comprehensive solutions for converting waste into energy, will work to shorten construction timelines, aiming to start operations before November 2025.
