Broadcom has presented a series of innovations and services at the VMware Explore 2024 Barcelona event to accelerate cloud transformation and harness artificial intelligence (AI) in businesses. These solutions are designed to help organizations tackle the challenges of modernizing data centers and adopting generative AI while managing operational costs and security and privacy risks.

VMware Cloud Foundation: Empowering Private Cloud

Broadcom has introduced enhancements to the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) platform to support organizations’ digital transformation and cyber resilience. Among the key updates are:

  • VMware Tanzu Data Services: This new advanced services offering enables companies to deploy, manage, and consume critical data services more efficiently, improving security and governance.
  • VMware Live Recovery: Now includes support for Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) as an isolated recovery environment, expanding disaster recovery and cyberattack options.
  • Expansion of the Private Cloud Modernization Program: A maturity and optimization tool has been added to assist organizations in their transition to private cloud.
  • Support for Digital Sovereignty: Over 50 cloud service providers offer sovereignty services based on VCF, with 30 of them in EMEA, ensuring local control and data residency without relying on a single vendor.

Driving AI Networks at the Edge with VeloCloud

To address the increasing demand for AI-driven workloads, Broadcom has launched enhancements to its VeloCloud product portfolio, highlighting:

  • VeloRAIN: A new architecture designed to optimize AI workloads in distributed networks, enhancing application and traffic prioritization.
  • New VeloCloud Edge 4100 and 5100 devices: Created to simplify network architecture at large sites, these devices reduce the need for multiple equipment and improve scalability.
  • Broadcom Advantage Partner Program: A new partner program for Managed Service Providers (MSPs), featuring tiers that offer benefits to help MSPs deliver the VeloCloud SD-WAN to clients globally.

Application and Data Security with VMware vDefend and Avi Load Balancer

Broadcom has also introduced enhancements to VMware vDefend and Avi Load Balancer, aimed at strengthening cybersecurity and optimizing workload performance:

  • vDefend Intelligent Assist: A new assistant powered by generative AI that accelerates threat detection and response, facilitating collaboration between security and infrastructure teams.
  • Avi Load Balancer: With improvements in automation and resilience, it optimizes load balancing for both VCF environments and Kubernetes.
