The SAP ecosystem in Spain once again showcased its strength in Santiago de Compostela. The 21st edition of the AUSAPE Forum brought together on June 3rd and 4th, 1,215 delegates from 411 companies, reinforcing its position as one of the country’s most significant tech events for SAP user organizations, partners, consulting firms, and professionals involved in digital transformation.
Held under the theme “Tech Path — Walking to the Cloud,” the conference highlighted key topics currently occupying businesses: cloud migration, artificial intelligence, data management, cybersecurity, sustainability, employability, and talent development. Cloud was the overarching theme, but the event made it clear that transformation can no longer be explained solely as an infrastructure change. It impacts processes, people, data governance, operational models, and new ways of collaboration between business and technology.
A conference with 411 companies and 81 sponsors
The Galicia Congress and Exhibition Center hosted a large-scale program, with 164 parallel sessions, 81 sponsors, and 76 booths in the exhibition area. The event was presented by journalist Ainhoa Arbizu and officially opened by Sara Antuñano Leicea, president of AUSAPE and S/4HANA Public Adoption Lead at EROSKI. She publicly acknowledged the Board of Directors, coordinators, delegates, and the association’s team, led by CEO Ana Encinas Lorite.
Working groups once again played a central role during the event. Overall, the program revolved around 11 groups, serving as platforms for exchange among user companies, experts, and partners. At the closing, recognition was given to three coordinators: Sara Antuñano, of the Financial Working Group; David Ruiz, of the BTP and SAP Champion Working Group; and Ignacio Vicente, of the Sustainability Working Group.

The exhibition area served as a key networking hub and a place to explore business opportunities. As many companies are revisiting their SAP strategies, especially with the transition to S/4HANA and cloud solutions, these spaces become highly practical: they enable comparisons of approaches, experience sharing, and understanding how others are tackling similar challenges.
Cloud, AI, and Autonomous Enterprise
One of the most significant segments of the Fórum focused on SAP’s technological vision. Anna Oró Jordán, Chief Operating Officer at SAP, and Jesús Martínez León, Head of Innovation and SAP Solutions Spain, discussed business transformation and the future of the SAP ecosystem, with particular attention to the concept of the Autonomous Enterprise.
This model envisions a company powered by artificial intelligence and autonomous agents capable of analyzing data, forecasting needs, and proactively executing tasks or processes. Within the SAP environment, this evolution impacts areas such as procurement, finance, HR, supply chain, and operational management. The promise extends beyond automating repetitive tasks to reducing decision times and enhancing organizational responsiveness.
The idea of an autonomous enterprise arrives amid ongoing phases of modernization: cloud migrations, data integration, process governance, security, and redesign of critical applications. Therefore, the debate was not purely futuristic. AI-based enterprise autonomy requires a mature technological foundation, reliable data, and well-defined processes. Without this prior layer, autonomous agents may accelerate errors rather than resolve them.
Quantum computing also featured prominently. Valentín García, Innovation Director at Lantik S.A., the technological agency of the Diputación Foral of Bizkaia, analyzed the impact and future of quantum technologies. He emphasized that Spain ranks among the countries setting the global pace in this domain, alongside powers like the U.S. and China, highlighting the importance of public investment to boost this position and ensure technological advances benefit social and economic progress.
Talent, Diversity, and Social Commitment
Talent was another key theme at the Fórum. The AUSAPE-SAP Employment Forum gathered 50 candidates and 10 regional companies, aimed at strengthening employability within the SAP ecosystem. The Xunta de Galicia participated through its Director of Training and Employment, Zeltia Lado Lago, who conveyed the autonomous community’s commitment to engaging with sectors involved in job creation.
The employment roundtable also included Eduardo Campo, Director of Employment and Training at Lanbide; Ana Encinas Lorite, AUSAPE General Director; and Juan Pedro García, SAP Employment Manager. The session was moderated by Unai Pinadero, member of the AUSAPE Board of Directors responsible for Training and Employment and SAP Project Management at Enagás.
Diversity was given its own space via Women Tech AUSAPE, which once again highlighted female leadership in technology. This edition expanded awards into three categories. The winners were Mari Cruz Briongos Martín from Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona; Paloma Baglietto from DXC Technology; and Elena Cervero Contreras from Volkswagen Group.
The program also featured inspiring speakers such as Edurne Pasabán, an internationally renowned leader and resilience expert, and Jorge Luengo, magician and science communicator, who offered unique perspectives on creativity, change, and innovation in complex environments.
The social aspect culminated in a donation from AUSAPE—on behalf of its members—to the Fundación Andrea, which supports families with children suffering from long-term, chronic, or terminal illnesses, especially those with limited resources. Fundación President Charo Barca Fernández received the check during the event.
With these achievements, AUSAPE continues to strengthen its role as the leading community for SAP users in Spain. The Fórum serves not only as a showcase of technology but also as a hub for connection among companies, talent, partners, government bodies, and professionals experiencing digital transformation firsthand.
The next edition is already scheduled. The 22nd AUSAPE Forum will take place on June 16-17 in Pamplona, where the community will gather once again to discuss future developments around cloud, data, AI, and new work models.
