The global technology company Arrow Electronics has closed a distribution agreement with Object First, the provider of the innovative storage device Ootbi (Out-of-the-Box Immutability), specifically designed to offer immutable and ransomware-resistant backups in environments using Veeam.
Thanks to this alliance, Arrow will distribute Object First solutions to its channel partners in a selection of European countries, with a special focus on the midmarket segment. Initially, the agreement will apply to Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Norway, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden, although plans are already in place to extend this coverage to the entire EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa).
This collaboration will enable more organizations to strengthen their data protection strategies against cyberattacks, providing a simple, effective solution tailored to current market needs.
Object First’s Ootbi provides a secure, straightforward, and powerful backup storage solution specifically designed for Veeam environments. With a strong focus on mid-sized enterprises, it adds ransomware-proof immutability by offering a secure-by-default object storage device that provides zero access for destructive actions on the firmware, operating system, storage application, or data layer.
The Ootbi device can be deployed in less than 15 minutes without any security experience and is designed to align with Zero Trust best practices, allowing channel partners to offer secure storage that can be easily scaled. Ootbi is a powerful backup storage device that integrates directly with Veeam’s Smart Object Storage (SOS) API, enabling rapid ingestion speeds and boosted performance for Veeam Instant Recovery.
Mike Worby, head of strategic alliances for EMEA for Arrow’s Enterprise Computing Solutions business division, states that “this agreement allows us to offer a more comprehensive Veeam ecosystem to our partners. Object First focuses on addressing a clear customer challenge around immutability and ransomware protection. Their plug-and-play approach makes them an excellent choice for Veeam deployments in the midmarket.”
The addition of Object First strengthens Arrow’s storage and data protection portfolio, providing Veeam channel partners with a more complete backup and recovery solution. Through this cooperation, Arrow will provide the channel with Object First’s turnkey device, designed to simplify immutable storage while meeting the security and scalability needs of current data protection strategies.
“Our collaboration with Arrow represents an important step in bringing Ootbi to more Veeam customers across Europe,” says Pete Hannah, vice president of partners and alliances for EMEA at Object First. “Midmarket channel relationships and Arrow’s technical expertise put them in an ideal position to help accelerate the adoption of secure, simple, and powerful immutable backup storage.”
