The 39th edition of the Technology Fair of the National Association of Telecommunications and Local Television Operators of Spain (ACUTEL) kicked off today at the Fermasa venue in Armilla, Granada. Under the slogan “More connection, more closeness”, the event brings together over 3,000 professionals from the telecommunications sector and features participation from around 100 national and international companies.
A Leading International Event
Companies from Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, China, Argentina, and other countries are joining local operators at this fair, which is recognized as one of the most significant events in the sector. The opening ceremony was attended by officials such as the Regional Minister of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue, and Administrative Simplification, Antonio Sanz; the Mayor of Armilla, Dolores Cañavate; and the President of ACUTEL, Juan Antonio Rodríguez. Representatives from the Digital Agency of Andalusia and professional organizations, such as the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers, also participated in the event.
In his speech, Antonio Sanz emphasized the essential role of telecommunications companies in territorial cohesion, highlighting the importance of local services in combating rural depopulation. He also praised ACUTEL’s efforts in initiatives like the Digital Voucher, whose second edition is expected in the coming weeks.

The fair, which runs until tomorrow, includes a comprehensive program of presentations focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity, key topics in the industry. On the opening day, FlashStart Group kicked off the event with a talk titled “DNS Security in the Era of AI and Cyber Warfare”. This was followed by presentations from companies such as Gamma, Aire Networks (Grupo Aire), and ESpanix, which discussed industry trends, mobile networks, and new opportunities for operators.
Simultaneously, attendees were able to explore an exhibition space of 4,500 m², showcasing the latest innovations in telecommunications, including integrated solutions, headends, fixed and mobile telephony, and FTTH networks.
Awards and Event Closure
Tomorrow, the final day will feature a single presentation by Huawei, titled “Smart Optical Networks: Enhancing Home Experience and Developing the Corporate Market”. The day will culminate in a gala dinner at the Barceló Granada Congress Hotel, during which awards for the IX Audiovisual Contest and distinctions for Professional Trajectory and Provider of the Year will be presented. Actor and comedian David Navarro will entertain at the event’s closure.

The President of ACUTEL, Juan Antonio Rodríguez, took the opportunity at the fair to announce that the Fermasa venue will continue to host the event in 2025, highlighting the excellent reception of the current edition. Rodríguez also expressed his satisfaction with the growing interest from operators and companies in the fair, reinforcing its role as a key platform for the sector.
