Apple delays the release of its new AI features.

According to a new report from Bloomberg and other artificial intelligence news outlets, the highly anticipated artificial intelligence features from Apple, collectively known as Apple Intelligence, will not be included in the initial launch of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 in September. Instead, these features will be implemented in later updates.

Apple Intelligence is now scheduled for release in October, a few weeks after the initial launch of iOS 18. Developers will have early access to test the Apple Intelligence features starting this week through the beta versions of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1.

Some of the advanced Siri features will not be available even in the October release, with the full deployment extending until 2025. This news comes at a time when Apple has signed the voluntary commitment from the White House to develop safe, secure, and trustworthy AI.

Although this delay may disappoint Apple and AI fans, the slower release strategy reflects Apple’s traditional focus on stability and quality of its features. However, with the delay of Apple Intelligence and Siri 2.0 not arriving until 2025, the early demonstrations we saw at WWDC in June should have been seen as previews rather than imminent releases.

This cautious approach from Apple underscores its commitment to delivering well-polished and stable features, despite the high expectations and interest generated by the early demonstrations of its new artificial intelligence technologies.
