Alcorcón Hospital Achieves 94% Automatic Coding of Emergencies Thanks to AI

The University Hospital Fundación Alcorcón, a public center in the Community of Madrid, has taken a significant step in optimizing its processes by implementing an innovative tool based on artificial intelligence (AI). According to recent reports, the hospital has successfully automatically coded 94% of the emergencies attended, thanks to the incorporation of Rosetta360 System AI, developed by Alhambra Health.

Revolution in emergency management

The Rosetta360 System AI platform, implemented two years ago in the Emergency Department of the hospital, has transformed the way medical information is processed. This tool allows for the natural language reading of Emergency Department episodes, providing department heads and management with real-time knowledge of the department’s status.

Isabel Sastre, Deputy Director of Systems and Information Technologies at the Hospital Fundación Alcorcón, highlights: “The technology of Rosetta360 System AI allows for time and effort savings for professionals, as well as ensuring data processing.” Sastre explains that the system analyzes information using Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms every two hours, returning the ICD-10 coding of clinical acts.
