Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise and Nokia Offer End-to-End Networking Solutions in Transportation, Smart Cities, Energy and Utilities, Healthcare, and Hospitality

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE), in collaboration with Nokia, announced that their joint networking solutions have been deployed at Ikos Resorts (Greece), Pantai Jerudong Hospital (Brunei), and Wembley Park (United Kingdom) to modernize and prepare their campus networks for new digital requirements.

These deployments enable the rollout of a fiber optic LAN network across the entire campus, capable of delivering multi-gigabit data speeds to clients and users. According to both companies, these projects represent a significant milestone in their five-year collaboration and add to other high-profile references in demanding environments such as Grand Paris Express, Montreal Railways, and Okada Manila Resort.

The Nokia optical LAN provides businesses and campuses with a high-capacity fiber infrastructure designed to handle the increasing bandwidth consumption driven by the rise of connected devices and applications. Integrated into ALE’s offerings for building and campus networks, this technology offers benefits such as lower energy consumption and reduced total cost of ownership.

Meanwhile, the advanced LAN and Wi-Fi solutions from ALE offer an automated solution to efficiently and securely integrate devices. The network is protected through asset discovery and classification, virtual segmentation, and continuous monitoring. It also includes Layer 2 services, HPOE, and optional redundant uplinks.

The combination of both companies’ network portfolios positions them, according to their statements, to be well-equipped to meet the demands of complex environments such as the hospitality sector. At Ikos Resorts, their joint solution is used to connect hundreds of rooms in luxury all-inclusive resorts, managing guest services, CCTV, voice, Wi-Fi, and building security sensors from a single high-availability network architecture. The fiber infrastructure has also enabled space savings and reducing network layers.

“By combining ALE’s agile enterprise networking solutions with Nokia’s carrier-grade infrastructure, we offer a comprehensive portfolio that addresses the specific needs of critical industries. Our partnership is built on trust, innovation, and a shared commitment to customer success,” stated Sandrine El Khodry, Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise.

Similarly, Matthieu Bourguignon, Senior Vice President and Nokia’s Director for Europe, emphasized that collaboration with ALE allows them to “offer end-to-end mission-critical solutions that go beyond traditional boundaries.” “We are proud of the joint successes achieved so far and look forward to driving even more transformative projects together,” he added.

As a leader in fiber optic solutions and a trusted communications integrator, Nokia and ALE report that their joint solution has already been implemented in over 100 companies worldwide, strengthening their proposal for corporate and campus environments that require a leap in capacity, efficiency, and network security.
