AI in Female returns to Madrid: A key event to boost female leadership in artificial intelligence.

Madrid will be the stage next Thursday, May 9th, for the fourth edition of the ‘AI in Female’ Congress, an event that seeks to highlight and strengthen the role of women in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), at a time when they only represent 22% of AI teams, according to data from the World Economic Forum of UNESCO.

The congress, which will be inaugurated by Mayte Ledo, Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, will bring together prominent professionals in the technological field to discuss the advances and challenges that women face in this discipline. Organized by AI-Network and the consulting firm Axicom, ‘AI in Female’ aims to serve as a platform to showcase female talent in the field of artificial intelligence and encourage future generations to pursue STEM careers.

The event will be moderated by Mónica González Ortín, country manager of Axicom in Spain, and Carmen López, member of AI-Network and director of Business Intelligence at Just Eat Spain. In addition, Macarena Estévez, founder of AI in Female and member of the Advisory Committee of AI-Network, will kick off the day with a lecture entitled “Does AI have a gender?”, while the closing will be led by Beatriz Pérez de Vargas from RTVE, director of the program Alter Ego. Invisible intelligence.

During the congress, roundtable discussions will be held on topics such as the impact of AI on the energy sector, with the participation of representatives from ENGIE, EDP, Acciona, and Repsol. Likewise, the challenges and solutions that AI presents for the media, with leaders from Newtral, Prisa Radio, Eldiario.es, or El Español, and in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, with executives from companies such as MSD and Biogen.

This gathering is not only an opportunity for debate and reflection on the integration of AI in various sectors, but also offers a valuable space for networking, allowing attendees to exchange experiences and discuss ethics and social responsibility in the development of artificial intelligence.
