Acronis, a global leader in cyber protection, has published its 2024 ESG report, detailing a year marked by its commitment to sustainable growth, data protection, and social impact. The document consolidates Acronis’s role not only as a benchmark in cybersecurity but also as a player committed to environmental sustainability and social inclusion worldwide.
The report highlights key advancements in the three areas that form its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy, aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and strategically integrated into its global operations and its network of over 50 data centers.
Environmental Leadership: Energy Efficiency and Emission Reduction
In terms of environmental initiatives, Acronis conducted a comprehensive review of its greenhouse gas emissions inventory and analyzed the carbon footprint associated with its technological solutions. Among its notable actions are the organization of 23 environmental events, collecting over 2,700 kg of waste and achieving over 630 hours of corporate volunteering.
More than 50% of the company’s data centers employ green practices, including sustainable cooling systems, responsible electronic waste management, and active participation in the iMasons Climate Accord, aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change.
Social Commitment: Inclusion, Training, and Equity
At the social level, Acronis has intensified its involvement in technology education and diversity programs. In 2024, over 500 employees participated in 76 social projects, accumulating nearly 3,000 hours of volunteering. Additionally, it continued its push for female talent in technology with 34 #CyberWomen events in 10 countries and the graduation of 36 participants from its Women in Tech (WIT) mentorship program.
The Acronis Cyber Foundation has also built six new educational centers and promoted IT training programs in Germany and Bulgaria, aimed at preparing the next generation of technology professionals.
Good Governance and Advanced Cybersecurity
In terms of governance, Acronis has strengthened its security and business continuity protocols. Highlights include the expansion of the ISO certification, the establishment of a new Threat Research Unit (TRU), security training for all staff, and the adoption of two-factor authentication (2FA) for its partners.
