The Spanish tech company, part of Telefónica Tech, consolidates its position as a trusted provider for businesses and public administrations after obtaining certification from the National Security Scheme.
Acens, a pioneering Spanish provider of cloud services and part of Telefónica Tech, has taken a decisive step in its security strategy by obtaining compliance certification with the National Security Scheme (ENS), issued by AENOR. This accreditation places the company in a privileged position to provide services to public agencies and reinforces the trust of its more than 180,000 clients in Spain, Brazil, Peru, and Mexico.
The ENS certification represents one of the highest cybersecurity standards required by Spanish regulations and is particularly aimed at digital systems that handle critical or sensitive information, especially those linked to Public Administrations. Obtaining this certification involves the effective implementation of 68 organizational, operational, and technical security measures in its infrastructures.
Jorge Díaz, spokesperson for Acens, emphasized that “this certification confirms our role as a leading Spanish company in providing cloud services and demonstrates our commitment to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, availability, authenticity, and traceability of our clients’ data. It enables us as a trusted provider in the public sector.”
A reinforcement of two decades of commitment to security
The acquisition of ENS is not an isolated event but the culmination of a trajectory of more than 25 years in the sector and nearly two decades operating under the ISO/IEC 27001 standard. Acens obtained this international certification in 2007 and has periodically renewed it, adapting to its new versions, the most recent in April 2025. The ISO 27001 standard establishes a comprehensive framework for information security management, covering both technical aspects (such as firewalls or backups) and organizational and cultural ones.
This dual certification (ENS and ISO 27001) guarantees clients that Acens’ cloud services are managed under the most demanding standards, from data storage and processing to access management and incident response.
Secure and sustainable data centers
With more than 6,000 square meters dedicated to data centers in Madrid and Bilbao, Acens has also reinforced its physical security, implementing up to 12 layers of protection. Among these, notable features include IP video surveillance systems, contactless biometric access via facial recognition, unique control points with turnstiles and access cards, and a secure room specifically designed to house highly confidential information.
Additionally, these facilities are designed to ensure service continuity, even in unforeseen events, providing high availability and resilience to their clients in both the public and private sectors.
Telefónica Tech and the commitment to digital trust
As part of Telefónica Tech, Acens integrates into a global strategy for secure digitalization, combining cloud services, cybersecurity, IoT, big data, and blockchain. This synergy enhances its ability to assist businesses and public administrations in their digital transformation while complying with national and European legislation on data protection and information security.
Since its founding in 1997, Acens has supported thousands of SMEs and large companies in the cloud migration process. Today, with the acquisition of ENS, it reinforces its position as one of the most reliable cloud providers in the Spanish tech landscape.
