A Sarenet Data Space Solution, Among the Most Advanced in the National Ecosystem

Sarenet, a company specializing in voice, data, and hosting services for businesses, has announced the inclusion of HUCAÍN in the Trust List of Data Spaces promoted by the Secretariat of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (SEDIA). This recognition certifies the level of technical, organizational, and operational maturity achieved by the project, placing it among the few data spaces officially recognized in Spain.

Currently, this Trust List includes only 25 data spaces across the entire country, making HUCAÍN’s addition a particularly significant step forward within the Spanish data economy ecosystem.

Inclusion in this list goes beyond institutional endorsement. To attain it, HUCAÍN has had to demonstrate, through a specific technical report, key aspects such as a defined governance structure, effective capability for secure information exchange, system interoperability, sustainability of the model, and practical applications aimed at the business and industrial sectors.

SEDIA promoted this framework to distinguish fully operational data spaces from other projects still in experimental or research and development phases. Thus, HUCAÍN’s incorporation recognizes a consolidated model of collaboration and secure data usage designed to meet real industrial needs.

“This recognition reinforces the work carried out to build a useful, operational data space aligned with European standards of interoperability, security, and data sovereignty. Being part of the Trust List certifies that HUCAÍN already has a solid foundation to generate real value through secure information exchange,” highlights Jon Arberas, CEO of Sarenet.

A data space focused on industry

HUCAÍN is designed to address increasingly relevant challenges for the industrial fabric, especially in areas related to traceability, sustainability, and secure information exchange between organizations.

The data space enables integrating information from different business and production environments, automating processes related to carbon footprint, and facilitating reliable data exchange among various actors within the industrial ecosystem.

All of this is particularly significant in a context marked by new European regulatory requirements, such as the Digital Product Passport, sustainability standards, and the need for advanced traceability in supply chains.

Companies will increasingly need to share information related to materials, production processes, emissions, or regulatory compliance—not only internally but also with customers, suppliers, partners, and public authorities. In this scenario, having infrastructures prepared to share information in a structured, interoperable, and secure manner will be a key element for business competitiveness.

Boosting the data economy

The Trust List is part of the national and European strategy to promote interoperable and secure data spaces that foster new collaboration models among organizations.

The inclusion of HUCAÍN demonstrates that the project already meets the necessary standards to operate in environments where reliability, governance, and secure information exchange will be critical for the development of the digital economy and industrial transformation.

With this recognition, HUCAÍN further strengthens its position as one of the leading projects within the Spanish data space ecosystem, consolidating its commitment to innovation, data sovereignty, and advanced digitalization of industry.
