Snowflake has announced new updates to its Snowflake Intelligence and Cortex Code solutions, taking another step toward becoming the central hub for managing artificial intelligence within companies. In a landscape where AI is advancing toward systems capable not only of responding but also executing actions, these improvements facilitate the integration of data, applications, and models within a unified and coherent environment.
Thanks to this evolution, organizations can connect their data sources and work tools more efficiently with AI agents, enabling processes and decisions to be based directly on reliable, up-to-date data.
In this context, Snowflake Intelligence positions itself as an intelligent assistant for the professional environment, capable of learning from each user’s behavior and adapting to their needs. Its role is to deliver more accurate results, automate tasks, and generate useful insights from well-managed business data.
On the other hand, Cortex Code expands its capabilities to become a leading platform for developing AI within the enterprise. Its approach allows developers to create, coordinate, and deploy AI solutions seamlessly within existing systems, maintaining full control and governance over data.
With these innovations, Snowflake promotes the use of intelligent agents tailored to different profiles and needs, centralizing the management of data, models, and applications. All of this reinforces its commitment to becoming the main control point for enterprise AI.
“In a context where AI is transforming how each company operates, platforms that facilitate AI integration into real business processes with proper data and control mechanisms will stand out,” says Baris Gultekin, VP of AI at Snowflake. “Snowflake offers customers a single place to gather their data, connect trusted systems, and turn AI into a real tool that helps teams get their work done.”
Snowflake Intelligence drives business user productivity
Unlike other AI copilots and assistants in the market, Snowflake Intelligence comprehensively understands the context of organizational business data and is enterprise-ready, prioritizing trust, governance, and security. With the latest updates, Snowflake Intelligence delivers a unified experience where users can interact with data, reason over it, and take actions within business systems.
At the core of this evolution are several key advancements:
- Automate routine tasks: The Skills (soon to be generally available) enable users to describe workflows in natural language to prepare presentations, conduct multi-step analyses, or send follow-ups. Snowflake Intelligence executes these automatically, removing manual effort and making them easier to repeat and share.
- Connect to existing tools: The new Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors (soon generally available) allow Snowflake Intelligence to connect directly with enterprise applications like Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Jira, Salesforce, and Slack, enabling users to operate within familiar systems.
- Mobile app for instant access: Users can download the new Snowflake Intelligence mobile app for iOS (coming soon in public preview) to ask questions and take action on data and workflows from anywhere.
- Multi-step reasoning with thorough analysis: With deep research (coming soon in public preview), Snowflake Intelligence helps users answer complex questions through multi-step reports that are fully cited. It employs an agentic architecture to reason through structured and unstructured data, as well as external context, augmenting precise responses with in-depth analysis to explain not just what is happening but why and what to do next.
- Continuous personalization: Rather than starting from scratch, Snowflake Intelligence now continuously learns from user behavior to provide more relevant and personalized responses and automate recurring tasks, helping teams work faster.
- Reusable and shareable artifacts: The Artifacts (soon generally available) enable users to save and share analyses, visualizations, and workflows, transforming point results into reusable knowledge so teams can build on each other’s work and scale insights across the organization.
These updates to Snowflake Intelligence are based on direct feedback and suggestions from customers, as well as insights from the early research phase of the SnowWork Project conducted last month. Snowflake actively collaborates with clients to understand their AI needs and develop capabilities that integrate into their AI systems for the benefit of the entire ecosystem.
Cortex Code provides a unique AI coding agent for the enterprise data stack
Cortex Code is evolving to support developers working in increasingly complex data environments with multiple systems. Since its launch in November 2025, Cortex Code has seen rapid adoption, with over 50% of customers actively using it to boost productivity and innovation. With new cross-platform capabilities, expanded integrations, and native development experiences, Snowflake is making governed, AI-powered development accessible to more users across the enterprise data ecosystem.
These updates extend Cortex Code across the modern data stack, allowing developers to:
- Develop wherever data resides: Cortex Code now supports more external data systems, including AWS Glue, Databricks, and Postgres, broadening Snowflake’s native data intelligence and continuing its vision to support any data, anywhere.
- Connect to the broader AI ecosystem: Cortex Code now integrates with other AI systems via the MCP and Agent Communication Protocol (ACP), enabling developers to interact with Cortex Code from their existing AI agents and workflows, reducing duplication and speeding up development.
- Work within your preferred development environment: With the new VS Code extension (private preview) and a Claude Code plugin, developers can access Cortex Code directly in their IDEs, creating and working on AI projects without switching tools.
- Scale with the Cortex Code platform: A new Agent Software Development Kit (SDK) supporting Python and TypeScript allows teams to embed Cortex Code capabilities into their own apps and workflows, transforming Cortex Code from a standalone tool into a platform that others can build upon.
- Unlock smarter workflows with Cortex Code in Snowsight: Users can execute code and complete entire workflows without leaving the browser, thanks to Cortex Code Sandboxes in Snowsight (private preview). These Sandboxes offer a dedicated cloud environment to run tasks end-to-end, without local setup. Improvements like Plan Mode allow previsualization and approval of workflows before execution, while Snap & Ask enhances interaction with data artifacts like charts and tables, improving precision and giving teams more control over their work.
Ongoing Snowflake momentum in AI
