Xerox Launches the Proficio Era: New PX300 and PX500 Digital Presses for Mid-Production Color Segment

Xerox unveiled their new Proficio family at PRINTING United Expo, debuting the digital presses Proficio PX300 and Proficio PX500. Positioned as their next-generation technology line — designed for mid-production color markets — this range emphasizes automation, color consistency, and high-value applications.

Proficio also serves as the new parent brand for Xerox’s production portfolio. Deriving from the Latin proficio (“to advance, succeed, progress”), it reflects the company’s goal to help print providers anticipate, adapt, and accelerate in a transforming market. The series is built on a unified platform that combines advanced imaging, automation, and AI-assisted intelligence to boost performance, efficiency, and profitability.

Key highlights of the new Proficio series

  • Speed: PX300 reaches 85 ppm and PX500 up to 100 ppm, allowing capacity adjustments for different production volumes.
  • Quality and range: Ultra HD with an optional 5th color station for Beyond CMYK applications, including fluorescent pink with extended color gamut, clear, and low gloss clear. Targeted for embellishments and higher-margin applications.
  • Line stability: new performance modules maintain color density and front-to-back registration in real time without halting production, and eliminate static buildup on synthetic substrates for cleaner stacking and finishing.
  • Print server: Xerox Print Server featuring Fiery® FS700X — exclusive to PX300/PX500 — to automate and streamline RIP/DFE workflows.

An end-to-end production ecosystem

The PX300 and PX500 integrate with the Xerox ecosystem:

  • FreeFlow® (job preparation and automation),
  • XMPie® (personalized, multichannel communication),
  • AI-powered workflows and production analytics.

The goal: speeding up setup, automating repetitive tasks, and providing real-time operational visibility to reduce costs and increase productivity in graphic arts and commercial printing environments.

Availability

Xerox will launch the series regionally and begin accepting orders in March 2026, with first shipments expected in the first half of 2026. The company will showcase the series at PRINTING United (stand 4521, October 22–24) and has additional details on its corporate website.

Company background

Xerox emphasizes that Proficio marks a new chapter in its production portfolio following the 2025 acquisition of Lexmark, which expanded their global footprint, service capabilities, and product offerings — including printing, digital solutions, and AI-driven technologies.
