Cambium Networks has announced the integration of its Cambium ONE Network solution with Starlink satellite Internet services. This integration enables scalable and optimized performance management for Starlink’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connections, in conjunction with Cambium’s Network Service Edge (NSE) security platform and the cloud management system cnMaestro™.
The integration brings enterprise-grade services to networks connected through Starlink, offering enhanced security, traffic intelligence, and multi-WAN scalability for businesses, schools, service providers, and distributed organizations that rely on satellite access for critical connectivity.
Making Starlink Work for Business and Education
LEO satellite Internet is transforming connectivity options in remote or underserved areas. When integrated into enterprise networks, factors like WAN bandwidth variability, latency, and management scalability become crucial. Cambium’s NSE platform enhances network management, security, and adaptability—essential aspects for these deployments.
Key features of the integration include:
- Multi-WAN Compatibility with Starlink – Each NSE supports multiple Starlink WAN interfaces for bandwidth aggregation and failover, along with improved management.
- Centralized Starlink Monitoring via cnMaestro Cloud – Administrators gain comprehensive visibility into antenna alignment, latency, and performance metrics, along with remote reboot capabilities to minimize on-site visits.
- Adaptive Queue Management (AQM) – Ensures fairness and low latency even during congestion, keeping real-time applications like Zoom or Teams stable.
- Application-Aware Firewall – Enables granular policy control over applications, bandwidth, and user behavior, while preserving Starlink for critical tasks.
- DNS Filtering for Education and Public Networks – Provides content filtering compliant with CIPA standards with over 80 content categories to protect users in schools and public spaces.
- Firewall-based Access Control for Starlink Terminals – Restricts antenna management to authorized administrators, preventing unauthorized reboots or configuration changes.
With these capabilities, Cambium allows network operators to combine multiple Starlink links, intelligently route traffic, and manage satellite networks from the same interface they use for managing Cambium’s wireless and wired infrastructure.
