Samsung revolutionizes the premium TV market with the launch of the 115-inch Micro RGB

Samsung Electronics has officially announced the launch of Micro RGB, the world’s first television featuring a backlighting system with independent micro-LED RGB units smaller than 100 micrometers, positioned behind an impressive 115-inch screen. The South Korean company states that this innovation sets a new standard in color accuracy, contrast, and immersive experience within the ultra-premium segment.

The key to Micro RGB lies in its proprietary Micro RGB technology, which places and controls each red, green, and blue LED independently at a microscopic level. Unlike traditional backlighting, this design allows for extremely precise color control, ensuring faithful and vibrant reproduction of any content.

“Micro RGB achieves unprecedented precision in controlling micrometer-sized RGB LEDs, raising the bar in color accuracy and contrast for consumer displays,” said Taeyong Son, executive vice president and head of R&D for Samsung’s Visual Display division.

Artificial Intelligence for Image and Sound

The TV incorporates the Micro RGB AI Engine, an AI-powered processing unit that analyzes each frame in real time and automatically optimizes color and audio. Its Micro RGB Color Booster Pro feature identifies scenes with dull tones and intelligently enhances color vibrancy, delivering a more realistic and immersive image.

Additionally, Micro RGB Precision Color guarantees 100% coverage of the BT.2020 color space, an international standard defined by ITU, with official certification from Germany’s Verband der Elektrotechnik (VDE).

Design and Viewing Experience

The television features Glare Free technology, which reduces reflections even in brightly lit environments, and boasts an ultra-slim, minimalist metallic design that complements any space.

With Samsung Vision AI and Bixby driven by generative AI, the Micro RGB enables more natural and personalized interactions, integrating intelligent functions directly into the viewing experience. It also includes Samsung Knox protection for personal data and a commitment to seven years of free Tizen OS updates.

Availability

After debuting in Korea, the Micro RGB will soon be available in the United States, followed by a global rollout that will include various sizes to cater to different consumer needs.
