The expansion at the Indy Telcom Center campus enhances the Midwest’s regional connectivity with advanced cooling technologies and a commitment to sustainability.
Netrality Data Centers, the largest private operator of interconnection facilities in the United States, has announced the launch of a new high-density data room at its Indy Telcom Center campus. This strategic expansion is part of the ongoing investment plan that the company has been developing since acquiring the campus in July 2021.
The new facility, covering approximately 350 square meters (3,800 square feet), adds 1 MW of critical capacity and is designed to support server deployments of up to 30 kW per rack. At the core of this data center is the award-winning Delta Cube3 cooling technology, recognized for its ability to capture and eliminate heat at the source, significantly improving energy efficiency and optimizing power usage.
Prepared for the Next Generation of Tech Loads
The Delta Cube3 solution eliminates the need for infrastructure reconfiguration in response to shifting IT demands, facilitating the integration of advanced applications such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and high-performance computing (HPC), all without compromising efficiency or environmental impact.
As part of its sustainability commitment, Netrality has adopted this closed-loop waterless cooling system, reducing energy consumption in high-density IT environments. This initiative has been partially funded by a $380 million sustainability-linked loan aimed at accelerating infrastructure upgrades aligned with the company’s environmental goals.
A Key Interconnection Hub in the Midwest
The Indy Telcom Center positions itself as Indianapolis’ primary interconnection hub, with ultra-low latency connections to major cities like Chicago, St. Louis, and Kansas City. Its strategic location makes it a critical data transit point nationally, benefiting regional clients as well as those requiring secure data management and access across coasts.
With over 40 connected service providers (on-net), this campus stands as one of the Midwest’s most significant colocation and interconnection centers, supporting robust network architectures and agile solutions for high-demand IT infrastructure.
Leadership Statements
“We are excited to inaugurate this new data room, which is only part of our ongoing strategy to enhance the Indy Telcom Center campus,” stated Gerald M. Marshall, President and CEO of Netrality Data Centers. “The investments we’re making, such as upgrades to key buildings like 701 West Henry, reflect our commitment to delivering sustainable and cutting-edge data center solutions. These improvements are designed to meet the growing demands of the digital economy and to provide our clients with the highest levels of reliability, scalability, and efficiency.”
