The Uptime Institute’s certification reinforces Cirion’s commitment to high-availability digital infrastructure across Latin America.
Cirion Technologies has announced the achievement of Tier III Design certification by the Uptime Institute for its new LIM2 data center, located in the Macrópolis industrial district in Lurín, Peru. This distinction, one of the most significant in the global data center industry, validates compliance with rigorous technical and operational standards verified by certified engineers.
The LIM2 facility, with a capacity of 20 MW, is a carrier-neutral installation that forms part of Cirion’s digital ecosystem. It is interconnected via redundant fiber with the existing LIM1 center, situated 35 kilometers away. The new infrastructure is designed to ensure continuous IT services even during maintenance or replacement of critical components, with no operational interruptions.
“Earning the Tier III certification affirms our dedication to the highest international standards,” said Alexandre Simcsik, Senior Data Center Operations Director at Cirion Technologies. “We built LIM2 with the goal of providing our clients with a resilient, efficient, and secure infrastructure that meets today’s technological demands.”
### A New Standard of Excellence for the Country
The Tier III certification guarantees that the data center’s design allows for simultaneous maintenance without affecting operations, thanks to a redundant architecture (N+2 Catcher configuration), efficient cooling systems, and fault-tolerant power equipment.
Highlights of LIM2 include:
– Strategic location in Lurín, within the Macrópolis industrial park
– Sustainable energy consumption using clean sources and high-efficiency liquid cooling
– Connectivity with over 1,500 providers, including hyperscalers and ISPs
– Strict information security policies and 24/7 surveillance
– Equipment capable of isolating components for maintenance without service disruption
Additionally, LIM2 holds multiple other certifications such as ISO/IEC 9001, 14001, 20000-1, 22301, 27001, 27017, 27018, and compliance with standards like PCI-DSS, ISAE 3402 SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3. These credentials underscore Cirion’s commitment to robust and quality management across its data centers.
### A Strategic Investment in Digital Transformation
The investment in LIM2 reflects Cirion’s focus on supporting companies in their digital transformation journeys. “Organizations face increasing challenges to modernize and stay competitive. With infrastructure like LIM2, we help them do so safely, quickly, and efficiently,” added Simcsik.
The Uptime Institute, which has awarded over 2,500 Tier certifications across 110 countries, is globally recognized for setting the most demanding standards for the design, construction, and continuous operation of data centers.
