The partnership between both companies aims to provide secure, flexible, and sustainable virtual desktops from data centers in Spain, reinforcing digital sovereignty and the national technological ecosystem.
Virtual Cable and Grupo Aire have announced a strategic alliance to accelerate the transformation of the traditional workplace into a more agile, secure, and digitally sovereign model. The collaboration will enable the delivery of customized virtual desktops from OASIX’s public cloud — Grupo Aire’s cloud infrastructure — entirely hosted within Spanish territory.
With this initiative, both companies align with the growing market demands for regulatory compliance, data security, and sustainability, while offering a genuine alternative to major international cloud providers.
Smart digital workplace: security, performance, and sustainability
At the heart of this proposal is UDS Enterprise, the virtualization solution developed by Virtual Cable, which allows deployment of virtual desktops, virtualized applications, and remote access to physical devices. Its open and modular architecture has been designed for easy integration into any infrastructure, including, natively, the OASIX cloud, based on data centers located in Spain and connected through Grupo Aire’s communication network.
The goal is clear: to offer channel partners solutions for the digital workplace with complete control over data location, guaranteed performance, and full traceability.
“The collaboration with Grupo Aire strengthens our commitment to a sovereign technological ecosystem based on open, efficient, and secure solutions that help the channel grow,” explains Félix Casado, CEO of Virtual Cable. “Together, we offer value-added alternatives compared to traditional desktop models and major international clouds.”
Technology with Spanish DNA and European focus
Grupo Aire, the parent company of OASIX, contributes its distributed cloud infrastructure, high-capacity network, Spanish data centers, and an approach aligned with the principles of European technological sovereignty. For Zigor Gaubeca, CIO of Grupo Aire, this collaboration reflects a clear strategy:
“We always choose the best travel companions to offer our partners quality solutions; and that’s exactly what we did by sealing our alliance with Virtual Cable.”
The joint proposal enables integrators and service providers to manage virtual desktops from a local platform, without sacrificing scalability and flexibility offered by the cloud, all while complying with regulations such as GDPR and the National Security Scheme (ENS). Additionally, since it’s hosted entirely in domestic data centers, the model ensures that data never leaves Spanish jurisdiction — increasingly valued by companies, public administrations, and sensitive sectors.
Alternative to vendor lock-in
At a time when many organizations seek to reduce dependency on large international tech companies, the combination of UDS Enterprise and OASIX represents a genuine alternative to vendor lock-in. Built on open standards and offering advanced customization options, the model allows channel partners to design tailored solutions for their clients.
UDS Enterprise’s modular approach enables deployment of Windows or Linux desktops, integration of multi-factor authentication (MFA), management of access policies by time or location, and centralized usage auditing. All supporting local hypervisors, hybrid cloud, and multi-cloud environments.
A step further towards digital autonomy
The alliance between Virtual Cable and Grupo Aire aligns with the European goal of strengthening a resilient, transparent, and locally controlled digital infrastructure. The proposal for a sovereign digital workplace responds to the need for safer, more flexible, and sustainable work environments that do not compromise data control or technological freedom of choice.
With this move, both companies reinforce their position as leaders in developing a competitive, innovative digital ecosystem for Europe, aligned with the values of technological sovereignty.
