HPE Expands Its ProLiant Gen12 Line with AI for Automated Management, Efficient Virtualization, and Edge Computing

The new servers with AMD EPYC 5th generation processors double memory, integrate AI for automated management, and offer optimized solutions for hybrid and on-premises environments.

At HPE Discover Las Vegas 2025, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced the expansion of its HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 server portfolio with new solutions designed for virtualization environments, container workloads, and edge deployments. The new models—the ProLiant DL325 and DL345 Gen12—feature 5th generation AMD EPYC™ processors and provide up to 6 TB of memory, double that of the previous generation, aimed at data-intensive environments.

AI and Automation: Intelligent Management from Silicon to Cloud

The new servers are equipped with the latest version of HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO 7), which offers advanced protection from the factory to the end of the server’s life cycle, including defenses against future threats such as post-quantum attacks. Additionally, HPE has enhanced its Compute Ops Management platform, a cloud solution designed for automated and secure server monitoring and management, incorporating AI-driven features.

Key improvements include:

  • Faster root cause analysis through direct visualization of HPE’s health system logs.
  • Reduction of human errors via automated approval policies and AI-verified workflows.
  • Unified and multi-vendor management, allowing for the reduction of management tools and increased operational efficiency.

According to the company’s data, this automation can save up to 75% of management task time, reduce server downtime by 4.8 hours annually, and save up to $152,000 in operating costs over three years.

HPE Morpheus: Open, Unlocked Virtualization

The integration of HPE Morpheus VM Essentials Software into the ProLiant Gen12 family represents a significant step toward simplified virtualization and reducing licensing costs, which can reach up to 90%. This open and agnostic solution allows organizations to minimize dependence on specific vendors and manage multiple hypervisors from a single platform, all while achieving higher performance, lower energy consumption, and space optimization.

Edge Computing with HPE ProLiant DL145 Gen11 and Azure Local

HPE also announced the availability of the ProLiant DL145 Gen11, a compact and robust server designed for edge environments, now integrated as a local system with Microsoft Azure Local. Designed for distributed environments—such as retail, manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare—this model can be installed on desks, walls, or racks, providing real-time data processing and direct connectivity to cloud services.

The DL145 Gen11 comes preconfigured with the latest security and software updates and enables a “plug-and-play” implementation that simplifies deployment in remote or hard-to-reach infrastructures.

Availability

  • HPE ProLiant DL325 and DL345 Gen12 are now available for order and will start shipping in July.
  • HPE Morpheus VM Essentials and the DL145 for Azure Local Integrated System are available as of today.

HPE continues to position itself as a leader in smart infrastructure for AI and virtualization, enabling organizations to efficiently and securely modernize their IT environments, from the data center to the edge. Attendees at HPE Discover Las Vegas 2025 will have the opportunity to experience these innovations firsthand.
