The new integrations enhance cyber resilience, data analytics, and incident recovery, supported by the capabilities of Google Cloud and Mandiant.
During the Cloud Next ’25 event, Cohesity announced an expansion of its strategic partnership with Google Cloud aimed at strengthening organizations’ cyber resilience against the rise of sophisticated threats such as ransomware. The collaboration includes new integrations that combine artificial intelligence, advanced security, and critical data recovery capabilities.
The company highlighted that businesses lose, on average, $540,000 for every hour of downtime according to a report from Splunk, reinforcing the need to adopt proactive solutions that mitigate both operational impact and business risk.
New Capabilities in Cybersecurity and Disaster Recovery
Key highlights include:
🔍 Integrated Google Threat Intelligence in Cohesity Data Cloud
This new feature will allow customers to detect threats more quickly in their backup data thanks to Google’s threat intelligence. This knowledge base includes tracking over 450 malicious actors and analyzing more than 1,100 incidents annually. The goal is to detect, contain, and mitigate attacks more effectively and earlier.
🤝 Partnership with Mandiant for Incident Response
Cohesity and Mandiant’s incident response team, also part of Google, will provide a coordinated response to cyberattacks. While Mandiant manages the containment and analysis of the attack on the primary infrastructure, Cohesity ensures protection and secure restoration from the backup environment.
☁️ Isolated Recovery Environment in Google Cloud (CIRE)
Organizations will be able to work with Mandiant and Cohesity to set up an isolated recovery environment in Google Cloud before an attack occurs. This will allow for reliable and controlled business restoration, minimizing the impact of a potential incident.
🔐 Integration of Cohesity Data Cloud with Google Security Operations
This merger of technologies will provide customers with comprehensive management of data protection and monitoring of security posture across the organization.
Artificial Intelligence for Data Analytics
As organizations generate increasing amounts of data, Cohesity has also announced two new integrations that unlock value through advanced AI capabilities:
🧠 Cohesity Gaia integrates into Google Agentspace
With this integration, Cohesity Gaia acts as an AI agent within Agentspace, allowing secure searches across all enterprise information, regardless of where it is hosted. It also leverages Google’s Gemini language models to apply advanced reasoning and obtain more accurate and useful responses.
🔍 Integration of Google Gemini with Cohesity Gaia
This partnership will improve the AI-powered business search assistant that Cohesity already offers, facilitating intelligent analytics, discovery, and advanced data management.
“Our collaboration with Cohesity will enable organizations to strengthen their cyber resilience while accelerating their digital transformation,” highlighted Stephen Orban, Vice President of Migrations, ISVs, and Marketplace at Google Cloud.
“We are committed to providing the most comprehensive solution for protecting critical data, enabling rapid recovery, and transforming that information into a strategic asset,” noted Vikram Kanodia, Vice President of Technology and Cloud Alliances at Cohesity.
Availability
- The integrations with Google Cloud focused on cyber resilience and data analytics will be available starting in the summer of 2025.
- The partnership with Mandiant for incident response and integration with Google Security Operations is already available.
