Panzura has launched CloudFS 8.5 Adapt, a significant update to its hybrid cloud storage platform, designed to enhance business continuity, optimize performance, and strengthen security in a context marked by technological uncertainty and growing cyber threats.
According to a PwC report, 96% of companies have experienced operational disruptions in the past two years, and 76% of them report that their most serious incident had a significant impact on their operations. Given this landscape, Panzura aims to provide solutions that reduce downtime and minimize the impact of potential failures in critical infrastructure.
Instant Node: Instant Recovery to Ensure Operations
One of the key innovations of CloudFS 8.5 Adapt is Instant Node, a feature that allows users to replace or migrate storage nodes in a matter of minutes, drastically reducing downtime in the event of hardware failures, cyberattacks, or power outages.
This technology also facilitates migration from VMware to cloud environments without compromising data availability. Additionally, it offers an alternative to costly high availability (HA) infrastructures, enabling companies to maintain operational continuity without the need for additional investments in redundant hardware.
“With Instant Node, our clients receive an enterprise-class solution for business continuity, without the high costs of traditional high availability infrastructures,” emphasized Bradley C. Horst, Vice President of CIO Advisory Services at Symetri.
Regional Store: Faster Access and Cost Optimization
Another key innovation is Regional Store, a feature that optimizes data access speed in organizations with teams distributed across different geographical locations.
The new system allows for the creation of up to four cloud object storage containers, ensuring that users access their files from closer servers, avoiding latencies caused by long distances. This not only improves operational performance but also reduces data transfer costs and bandwidth consumption.
“With CloudFS 8.5 Adapt, we bring the cloud closer to people and processes, reducing latency and optimizing operational efficiency,” explained Sundar Kanthadai, CTO of Panzura.
Enhanced Security and Flexibility in Data Management
In addition to these performance and availability enhancements, CloudFS 8.5 Adapt expands its focus on security and operational management with new integrations and advanced tools:
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) with Single Sign-On (SSO) via Okta, allowing for centralized identity management and strengthening protection against unauthorized access.
- Support for tiered storage in Microsoft Azure, providing companies with greater flexibility to manage costs without compromising data performance.
A Step Forward in Hybrid Storage Evolution
CloudFS 8.5 Adapt reinforces Panzura’s position as a key player in unstructured data management within the hybrid cloud. With features like Instant Node and Regional Store, the company offers organizations a more flexible, secure, and efficient solution to meet the challenges of digital transformation.
