NetApp has revamped its enterprise storage portfolio by expanding the NetApp ASA A series, introducing new systems designed to optimize and consolidate block workloads for organizations of all sizes. These solutions, which integrate advanced cyber resilience capabilities, enable businesses to develop a unified data infrastructure, enhancing efficiency and performance.
In a constantly evolving environment, organizations must redefine their data strategy to ensure the flexibility and security needed for modernizing their IT operations, thereby driving innovation. To meet this challenge, NetApp has launched three new enterprise storage systems, providing customers with more accessible, powerful, and scalable options within a Smart Data Infrastructure, designed to adapt to their current and future needs.
The new high-performance NetApp ASA A20, A30, and A50 series bring block storage within reach of companies of all sizes for critical applications such as databases and virtual machines. They are ideal for smaller deployments, including remote offices or branches, with an initial price starting at $25,000. NetApp’s ASA systems offer:
- Simplicity: NetApp ASA systems provide hassle-free storage to help businesses modernize their operations: they deploy in minutes, provision in seconds, and are protected with a single click. Unified management across the storage environment delivers an easy and scalable experience that grows along with business needs.
- Power: Their storage architecture offers consistent performance and the flexibility needed to scale to petabytes of capacity, allowing businesses to operate with greater speed and agility. Additionally, they feature integrated business continuity, a 99.9999% data availability guarantee, and ransomware recovery assurance, reducing operational risks and enabling uninterrupted operation.
- Affordability: In addition to offering initial costs that are 30-50% lower than competing systems, they also deliver a better return on investment, with up to 97% less energy consumption and more efficient operational management when modernized with ASA all-flash storage.
“In less than a year, NetApp has completely renewed and unified its portfolio, optimizing it for blocks and objects while reaffirming our commitment to continuous innovation,” says Jaime Balañá, Chief Technology Officer of NetApp in Ibero-America. “With the most comprehensive storage offering in the industry and integrated cyber resilience, we provide faster, simpler, more scalable, and more affordable systems than the competition, tailored to any workload or budget. NetApp empowers its customers to tackle challenges and seize opportunities in modern data management with a smart infrastructure that optimizes operations, reduces risks, and accelerates AI-driven transformation.”
These new ASA systems will also be available in a converged FlexPod infrastructure, providing additional benefits such as simplifying data center operations and faster deployment of enterprise applications thanks to pre-validated architectures.
NetApp continues to enhance the cyber resilience capabilities integrated into its enterprise storage portfolio. Later this year, it will launch NetApp ONTAP® Autonomous Ransomware Protection with artificial intelligence (ARP/AI) for block storage. This update will expand the existing ARP/AI capabilities, the first real-time detection and response solution for NAS systems, extending its cyber resilience protection to SAN customers.
To further reduce operational risks for businesses, NetApp has launched its Ransomware Detection Program. Should certain ransomware attacks go undetected, the tool offers recovery assistance through NetApp Professional Services, at no initial cost.
“As a key data infrastructure provider for Aruba, NetApp is enhancing our IT offering through its Smart Data Infrastructure that helps us optimize data center solutions and drive joint innovation across Europe,” states Fabrizio Garrone, Director of Enterprise Solutions at Aruba S.p.A. “As we expand our operations to meet the growing demand for cloud services, maintaining scalability and flexibility is crucial. NetApp ONTAP stands out for its ease of use, simplicity, and uniformity, allowing us to focus our technical resources on customer service instead of training or tedious tasks.” “Modernizing SAN represents a significant opportunity, as the data needs of growing businesses increase alongside their operations,” says Scott Sinclair, Director of Cloud, Infrastructure, and DevOps Practice at Enterprise Strategy Group. “Businesses need a comprehensive data strategy that prepares them for the future. At the same time, the skills shortage in IT and budget constraints mean many small businesses lack storage specialists to develop a smart data strategy. The new ASA A series provides a simple, powerful, and affordable foundation to help them move forward.”
