Virtual Cable has announced the release of the Release Candidate for UDS Enterprise 4.0, the latest version of its digital workplace software. This advancement reinforces its leadership in developing smarter, more reliable, and efficient virtualization environments while addressing the growing demands of organizations in their digital transformation processes.
The new version expands deployment options by incorporating support for Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Scale Computing (SC), and Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM), allowing organizations to integrate public cloud platforms, hyper-converged infrastructures, and open-source solutions based on their specific needs. Advanced capabilities have also been added for OpenStack-based providers such as Huawei Cloud and OVHcloud.
One of the most notable new features is the high availability functionality in Meta Pools, which connects different platforms to operate as a single entity. This feature ensures service continuity by automatically redirecting operations to another environment in case of failure, guaranteeing uninterrupted operation.
In terms of security, UDS Enterprise 4.0 introduces compatibility with the OAuth2 protocol and new multi-factor authentication (MFA) options, strengthening the protection of work environments.
Significant improvements have also been made in Windows application virtualization, including advanced actions such as load balancing among RDS servers based on predefined thresholds. Furthermore, the new OS Manager simplifies the management of Linux machines by integrating them into Active Directory domains.
User and administration portals have been redesigned to provide more agile and efficient navigation, even in scenarios with hundreds of active services. Additionally, the dashboard graphics have been optimized, facilitating real-time resource monitoring.
For environments using Microsoft Teams, a system has been introduced that enhances performance in complex configurations, ensuring smoother operation. Furthermore, connectivity has been improved through a tunnel management system that simplifies setup and reduces errors.
Among the new advanced features are tools to optimize resource management, such as returning machines to the cache, removing duplicates, and a “soft” shutdown for desktops on compatible providers. Innovative functionalities have also been included, such as “Notifiers,” which send system alerts through external methods like email or Telegram, and an enhanced token management system that simplifies version and operating system control.
“Organizations can maximize their return on investment and ensure the continuity of their operations thanks to the efficiency of our solution. Additionally, our 24/7 support service allows us to meet the demands of sectors such as banking, insurance, energy, and industry,” emphasized Javier González, Technical Director of Virtual Cable.
With UDS Enterprise 4.0, Virtual Cable reinforces its commitment to customization, flexibility, and automation, establishing itself as an efficient, secure, and cost-effective solution for organizations looking to transform their work environments into a smart digital workplace.
