Cegid Acquires Microdata to Strengthen Its Leadership in Cloud Business Management

Cegid, a European leader in cloud business management solutions, has announced the acquisition of Microdata, a prominent Andalusian company specializing in software for SMEs and accounting firms. This strategic move will allow Cegid to expand its offerings in electronic invoicing solutions, in a context of growing demand driven by upcoming regulatory requirements in Spain. In fact, just a few days ago, Cegid also announced the purchase of sevdesk.

A Strategic Integration

Microdata, founded over 30 years ago in Almería, has been a reference point in the development of modular solutions for tax, labor, and business management, with a base of over 2,000 clients and a revenue of 2.7 million euros in 2023. With a team of 40 employees, the company has primarily operated under a direct business model, establishing itself as one of the leading software providers in Andalusia.

According to Javier Torres, General Manager for Iberia, Latam, and Africa at Cegid: “The integration of Microdata allows us to strengthen our electronic invoicing offerings, providing more agile and reliable solutions to SMEs and firms seeking to adapt to new digital challenges. Furthermore, this acquisition reinforces our position as a leader in cloud solutions in Iberia, where we have over 1,400 employees, 800 partners, and a client base of 112,000.”

An Impulse for Digital Transformation

With this acquisition, Microdata’s solutions will be integrated under the Cegid Microdata brand, benefiting from Cegid’s global resources and capabilities. According to Manuel Sánchez, CEO of Microdata, “this is the perfect time to join Cegid. The combination of forces will allow us to successfully tackle the challenges of the current environment, ensuring exceptional service to our clients.”

Cegid, which is already a leader in the Iberian market with a projected pro forma revenue of 190 million euros this year, strengthens its commitment to technological innovation in sectors such as Finance, Human Resources, and Retail. The company stands out for its focus on digitalization, offering advanced solutions based on artificial intelligence and cloud technology to support both small businesses and large corporations.

Solutions for a Digital Future

The integration of Microdata also represents an important step toward meeting the new electronic invoicing requirements in Spain. The Verifactu solutions and electronic signature services that Cegid plans to incorporate are designed to facilitate SMEs’ transition toward more efficient and secure cloud management.

With this acquisition, Cegid reinforces its commitment to providing innovative and useful tools that drive growth and digital transformation for businesses in Spain and around the world. As a leader in cloud solutions, the company continues to open new possibilities for businesses of all sizes.
