EDGNEX Data Centers by DAMAC Drives Its Expansion in the United States with an Initial Investment of $20 Billion

The global digital infrastructure company EDGNEX Data Centers by DAMAC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the DAMAC Group, has announced its strategic entry into the U.S. market. With an initial investment of $20 billion and the potential to double this amount depending on demand, the company plans to develop a capacity of 2,000 MW over the next four years.

The expansion, aligned with the growing demand for digital infrastructure for cloud technologies and artificial intelligence (AI), positions EDGNEX as a key player in the U.S. tech ecosystem.

Strategic Expansion: Sunbelt and Midwest

EDGNEX will focus on the states in the Sunbelt, such as Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, as well as those in the Midwest, including Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana. The first phase of the plan includes creating 500 MW of capacity through joint ventures, land acquisitions, and existing platforms.

Hussain Sajwani, founder and chairman of DAMAC, stated:
“Our entry into the U.S. market marks a milestone in our commitment to building a global digital infrastructure platform. We want to contribute to the growth of cloud and AI while strengthening the U.S. position in the global tech ecosystem.”

Strategic Investments in the U.S.

In addition to its focus on data centers, the DAMAC Group is expanding its presence in the U.S. real estate sector. Notable projects include a boutique condominium in Miami, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, with a development value of $1 billion. This project reflects DAMAC’s commitment to innovation and cutting-edge design.

Global Commitment: A Robust and Sustainable Platform

EDGNEX’s entry into the United States adds to its already extensive international presence, with operations in 10 countries and a projected capacity exceeding 1,000 MW. The company currently manages over 10 MW in Saudi Arabia and 5 MW in Thailand, which will be operational in the first quarter of 2025.

The goal for 2026 is to reach 300 MW operational worldwide, positioning EDGNEX as a leader in scalable and sustainable digital infrastructure.
