Trend Micro and Intel Unveil Innovative Technology to Combat Covert Threats at CES 2025

Trend Micro Incorporated, a global leader in cybersecurity, in collaboration with Intel, has announced a joint solution aimed at enhancing the protection of enterprise systems against advanced threats, such as fileless malware and sophisticated ransomware. This development combines Trend Micro’s proactive technology with Intel’s threat detection technology (Intel® TDT), providing an enhanced hardware-based security layer.

Advanced Cybersecurity for a More Complex Threat Landscape

In a context where malicious actors are using more sophisticated techniques, such as fileless malware—which accounted for 40% of attacks in 2023—this collaboration promises to redefine enterprise security. These threats often execute in system memory or misuse legitimate tools like PowerShell, making them difficult to detect with traditional solutions.

Carla Rodriguez, Vice President of Intel, emphasized:
“Malicious actors are targeting endpoints with advanced attacks that evade software-only security. The integration of Intel TDT technology with Trend’s solutions provides hardware-accelerated detection that benefits billions of devices worldwide.”

The combination of Trend Vision One™ and Intel technology will enable companies to identify and respond to these threats before they can cause harm.

How the Joint Technology Works

The Advanced Memory Scanning (AMS) from Intel TDT shifts the memory scanning workload from the central processing unit (CPU) to the graphics processing unit (GPU), achieving:

  • Increased memory scanning capacity up to 10 times, allowing the identification of attacks before they launch their malicious payload.
  • Reduced CPU resource usage, enhancing threat response without impacting system performance or battery life.
  • A 24% increase in ransomware detection efficacy compared to software-only methods.

Key Benefits for Businesses

The integration of these technologies offers benefits such as:

  1. Advanced ransomware and fileless malware detection: By leveraging CPU telemetry analysis and real-time machine learning, this solution can uncover zero-day attacks and rapid variants.
  2. Efficiency without compromising performance: Offloading tasks to the GPU ensures smooth performance and minimal impact on daily operations.
  3. Scalability and adaptability: The solution is easy to integrate into various infrastructures, providing robust tools for proactive defense.

Participation in CES 2025

During CES 2025, Trend Micro and Intel will participate in a panel titled “Data Collection, Privacy, and Why You Should Care”. The event will take place on Thursday, January 9, providing an opportunity to learn more about how to protect critical data in an increasingly vulnerable digital environment.
