Panasonic Unveils “Well Into the Future” at CES 2025: A Commitment to Sustainable Innovation and Global Well-Being

Panasonic Holdings Corporation kicked off CES 2025 with an ambitious speech led by its CEO, Yuki Kusumi, who unveiled his vision for a more sustainable world through innovative technological solutions. Under the slogan “Well Into the Future,” Panasonic reaffirmed its commitment to well-being, sustainability, and digital transformation driven by artificial intelligence (AI).

Panasonic Go: A New Era of Innovation

The highlight of the announcement was the launch of Panasonic Go, a global initiative that will integrate AI technologies at all levels of the company. This program aims to transform the hardware business into a model driven by software and integrated solutions, targeting that 30% of the group’s revenue will come from AI-based products and services by 2035.

“Panasonic Go represents our evolution from a hardware manufacturer to an innovator in software and services,” Kusumi stated. “This shift will not only allow us to respond to the demand for smarter products but also to reinvent the customer experience across all sectors.”

Sustainability as a Core Pillar

Renewable Energy

Panasonic showcased its fuel cell factory in Japan, the first in the world fully powered by hydrogen, solar panels, and battery storage. This model, called Panasonic HX, will be implemented in other facilities such as Cardiff (UK) and Munich (Germany).

Circular Economy in Electric Vehicle Battery Production

In collaboration with Redwood Materials, Panasonic is working on a circular economy model for electric vehicle (EV) batteries. JB Straubel, CEO of Redwood, emphasized how this partnership addresses sustainability in battery manufacturing and recycling, a critical challenge for the automotive industry.

Measured Environmental Impact

Panasonic reaffirmed its GREEN IMPACT mission, which aims to reduce over 300 million tons of CO₂ by 2050. In collaboration with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), they are developing standards to measure avoided emissions, promoting low-carbon solutions.

Innovation in Well-being and AI

Umi Platform: Comprehensive Family Well-being

Panasonic Well, the group’s business incubator, introduced Umi, a digital platform that acts as a wellness coach for families. Powered by Anthropic’s Claude language model, Umi offers personalized plans in areas such as movement, nutrition, and family time, fostering meaningful connections.

Collaboration with Anthropic

The partnership with Anthropic ensures the integration of ethical and safe AI across all Panasonic solutions. Daniela Amodei, co-founder of Anthropic, highlighted their joint commitment to safety and aligning technology with human values.

Innovation in Supply Chains

Blue Yonder, a subsidiary of Panasonic, unveiled AI-based solutions to optimize global supply chains. These tools combine predictive and generative analytics to provide real-time visibility, improving decision-making and operational efficiency.

Technology for a Sustainable Home

Panasonic introduced OASYS, an HVAC solution designed to enhance air quality, reduce energy consumption, and provide exceptional comfort in homes. This technology integrates advancements in sustainability and well-being, reaffirming the company’s commitment to combating climate change and improving quality of life.

Commitment to Community and the Future

Panasonic Well also launched the Family Wellness Innovation Challenge in collaboration with AARP, awarding innovative startups with $1 million to develop wellness solutions. Among the winners are Hearth Display and Support Pay, showcasing their transformative potential in the industry.
