Hesai Technology Showcases Its Innovations for the Automotive Lidar Market at CES 2025

Hesai Technology (Nasdaq: HSAI), a global leader in lidar technology, announced two revolutionary products at CES 2025: the AT1440, the world’s automotive lidar with the highest number of channels (1,440), and the solid-state lidar FTX, designed for ADAS and robotics applications, featuring the widest field of view (FOV) on the market.

Hesai AT1440: Unprecedented Precision in the Automotive Industry

The AT1440 marks a milestone as the first industrial-grade automotive lidar with 1,440 channels, made possible by Hesai’s fourth-generation patented technology. This system utilizes advanced photonic detection methods and parallel processing to deliver an angular resolution of 0.02° and ultra-high-quality 3D point clouds.

Key Features of the AT1440:

  • 30 times higher resolution than conventional automotive lidars.
  • Ability to capture fine details essential for advanced autonomous driving (L3 and L4).
  • Compatibility with passenger vehicles equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).

These innovations position the AT1440 as a paradigm shift in the automotive industry, particularly for autonomous vehicles that require advanced precision and safety.

FTX: Leading the New Generation of Solid-State Lidar

The FTX lidar redefines perception capabilities in ADAS and robotics systems by incorporating fully solid-state scanning technology. With a field of view of 180° x 140°, the widest among solid-state automotive lidars, this device ensures detailed panoramic scanning with no blind spots.

Innovations of the FTX:

  • 2.5 times higher point rate than the previous generation, with 492,000 points per second.
  • Precise capture of small objects like strollers, pedestrians, e-scooters, and more.
  • 66% weight reduction, achieving a compact and sleek design ideal for integrated installations.

The FTX perfectly complements long-range lidars, providing essential panoramic perception for L3 and L4 autonomous vehicles, as well as high-precision robotic applications.

Market Validation and Mass Production

Hesai continues to solidify its leadership in the ADAS market with over 100 design agreements reached with 21 automotive OEMs, including 6 of the top 10 global manufacturers. In December 2024, Hesai delivered more than 100,000 lidar units, becoming the first company in the world to achieve this milestone.

Production Projections:

  • Planned annual production capacity to exceed 2 million units in 2025.
  • Over 1,700 registered patents globally, strengthening its technological leadership.

Toward the Future of Mobility and Automation

With a presence in over 40 countries across Asia, the United States, and Europe, Hesai continues to expand its global reach and develop advanced solutions that transform mobility and industry. The AT1440 and FTX lidars not only reflect its commitment to innovation but also set new standards in 3D perception, efficiency, and sustainability.
