Lumen Technologies has announced a strategic collaboration with Prometheus Hyperscale, a leader in sustainable data centers, to provide advanced connectivity that meets the growing data demands of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing. This partnership includes the implementation of Lumen® Private Connectivity Fabric℠, designed to deliver high-performance, low-latency network infrastructure that is crucial for demanding AI-based work environments.
Connected Infrastructure with Sustainability
Prometheus Hyperscale, known for its pioneering sustainability initiatives in the hyperscale data center industry, will utilize Lumen’s connectivity solutions to integrate new network routes based on next-generation wavelength services and dedicated Internet access with DDoS attack protection. This approach will enable Prometheus to optimize its facilities to provide dense computing capabilities with exceptional energy efficiency, aligning with its commitments to carbon neutrality and renewable energy.
The first implementation of this collaboration will take place at Prometheus’ flagship campus in Evanston, Wyoming, an ambitious project slated to go live in 2026. Additionally, four future data centers located in Pueblo and Fort Morgan (Colorado), Phoenix (Arizona), and Tucson (Arizona) will also benefit from this advanced infrastructure.
AI with Environmental Responsibility
The partnership reflects a mutual commitment to sustainability and technological innovation. According to Ashley Haynes-Gaspar, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer of Lumen, the collaboration aims to “support the next generation of sustainable infrastructure for AI.” For his part, Trevor Neilson, President of Prometheus Hyperscale, emphasized that “AI is transforming industries, but it must be implemented responsibly.” Neilson highlighted that the partnership with Lumen will enable top-tier connectivity without compromising sustainability principles.
The Evanston campus will be one of the largest data centers in the world, designed to harness clean energy resources and integrate advanced liquid cooling systems and AI-driven energy optimization. These technologies not only minimize environmental impact but also maximize operational efficiency.
Redefining Data Centers
Founded in 2020 under the name Wyoming Hyperscale, Prometheus has quickly evolved as a transformative force in the data center industry. Its focus on innovative technology, such as liquid cooling and renewable energy integration, is setting a new standard for hyperscale data centers. The partnership with Lumen reinforces this mission by providing connectivity solutions that are essential for managing enormous AI workloads, from training to inference.
Sustainable and Connected Future
The partnership with Lumen also underscores the growing emphasis on building technology infrastructures that are both sustainable and scalable. By leveraging Lumen’s network capabilities, Prometheus can ensure that its customers have access to efficient data center solutions that meet the increasing needs of AI and cloud computing, all while prioritizing environmentally responsible practices.
With a strategic focus on clean energy and advanced technology, the collaboration between Lumen and Prometheus Hyperscale is redefining the future of data centers in the era of artificial intelligence.
