As part of the HPE Discover Barcelona 2024 event, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced significant advancements in its HPE GreenLake Cloud platform, designed to simplify the management of complex, heterogeneous hybrid environments. With these new solutions, HPE aims to enhance agility and innovation across businesses in all sectors, solidifying its position as a leader in a hybrid-designed model.
HPE VM Essentials: Unified Management and Optimized Costs
One of the standout announcements has been HPE VM Essentials, a tool that allows businesses to manage virtualized workloads in a unified manner across hybrid environments. This solution, a result of the recent acquisition of Morpheus Data, offers a flexible approach that combines the management of existing hypervisors with the option to migrate to the new HPE VME. Its key features include:
- Cost Reduction: HPE VM Essentials includes a KVM-based hypervisor that offers competitive pricing per socket.
- Simplified Management: It integrates current hypervisor clusters and enables the provisioning of virtual machines from a single interface.
- Future-Ready: Available as standalone software or integrated into HPE’s private cloud solutions.
Additionally, it is supported by technology partners like Cohesity and Commvault, which provide backupA backup is a copy of data created and stored… and recovery services to ensure data resilience.
HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000: Fast and Scalable Storage
HPE also introduced the new HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000, an object-based storage system designed for scalability at the exabyte level. This system enables businesses to access and retrieve data more quickly, with performance up to six times that of leading competitors in the market. Its advantages include:
- Exceptional Performance: Disaggregated architecture that allows for independent scaling of capacity and performance.
- Modern Data Protection: Offers up to 20 times data reduction through deduplication and is compatible with leading backup solutions like Commvault and Veeam.
- Optimization for AI: In collaboration with NVIDIA, the system enables direct access to GPU memory, enhancing speed and efficiency in artificial intelligence applications.
This advancement is particularly aimed at meeting the needs of modern applications such as high-speed data lakes and critical data protection solutions.
Disconnected Private Cloud for Regulated Environments
In a world where data security is critical, HPE has introduced solutions for disconnected private clouds, such as HPE Private Cloud Enterprise Disconnected and HPE Alletra Storage MP Disconnected. These tools are designed for environments that cannot connect to public networks, such as government infrastructures, research centers, and healthcare providers.
Furthermore, HPE will enable its certified partners to create sovereignty cloud services, complying with local and sector regulations. This approach will start in Europe and will allow partners to gain competence in sovereignty that certifies their expertise in secure solutions based on HPE GreenLake.
Expansion in the AI Ecosystem
Artificial intelligence continues to be a strategic pillar for HPE. Through the Unleash AI program, the company has added six new partners, including Codeium and Dataiku, who will provide advanced solutions for specific use cases such as AI software development, augmented data generation, and intelligent video analytics.
Additionally, Deloitte has expanded its collaboration with HPE to implement solutions such as C-Suite AI, aimed at transforming business processes through private, secure artificial intelligence.
Availability and Future Vision
HPE VM Essentials will be available starting December 2024, while the HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000 will also be available at that time, with advanced functionalities expected by summer 2025. The disconnected private cloud solutions and sovereignty cloud services will be rolled out throughout 2025.
With these advancements, HPE not only reinforces its leadership in hybrid computing and artificial intelligence but also paves the way for a future where technology is more accessible, efficient, and secure for businesses of all sizes.
