The Digital Kit program, managed by Red.es and affiliated with the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function, has already reached 530,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and freelancers, fulfilling 80% of the target committed to Brussels. This was stated by Minister Óscar López during his visit to the Acelera Pyme Office in Madrid, one of the 155 offices distributed across the country to promote digitalization in the business sector.
Direct Impact on SMEs and Freelancers
These offices, managed in collaboration with business associations, professional colleges, and technological centers, have provided advice to 160,000 companies and freelancers on the use of new technologies. The minister emphasized the importance of this program, which has already resulted in an investment of 2.3 billion euros, aimed at modernizing and digitizing the Spanish business fabric.
During his visit, López met with representatives from three SMEs that have participated in the initiative and with an advisor from the Acelera Pyme Office. In the meeting, the companies shared their experiences and highlighted the program’s key role in upgrading equipment, training, and access to digital tools. “The suggestions they’ve provided will be fundamental in continuing to tailor the program to the diverse needs of users,” the minister stated.
Kit Consulting: A Key Support in Digital Transformation
The minister also highlighted the progress of the Kit Consulting program, which provides vouchers for hiring consulting services in digital transformation. In just five months, this program has granted 7,400 aids, surpassing half of the committed target of 15,000 impacted companies. López underscored that the applications have already exceeded the expected figure, demonstrating the interest and need for such initiatives in the sector.
A Step Towards Business Modernization
The Digital Kit and Kit Consulting programs are part of a broader modernization strategy aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs in an increasingly digitalized context. Thanks to these tools, companies have access to resources that were previously beyond their reach, allowing them not only to adapt to the demands of the current market but also to position themselves more robustly in a global environment.
With this level of progress, the government reaffirms its commitment to digital transformation and the fulfillment of the objectives set with Brussels, consolidating Spain as a benchmark in the implementation of inclusive and effective digitalization policies.
