Arsys, a cloud solutions provider and member of the IONOS Group, will manage a new node for the European initiative Gaia-X, a key project aimed at strengthening the Data Economy in the European Union. This node is part of the GXDCH (Gaia-X Digital Clearing House) network and will be based on a distributed cloud architecture supported by KubernetesKubernetes (commonly referred to in English as “K8s”) …, hosted in data centers in Spain and Germany, ensuring security, reliability, and digital sovereignty.
A Strategic Node for Interoperability in Europe
The new Gaia-X node will operate in a federated manner with other similar nodes deployed across Europe, facilitating the decentralization and interoperability of data spaces. These ecosystems allow participants to exchange information voluntarily and securely under common governance, regulatory, and technological frameworks.
The GXDCH network ensures that actors in each data space share information reliably, generating and verifying digital credentials for authentication in associated services. This approach not only optimizes the use of data for decision-making and creating new business opportunities but also ensures compliance with European Union regulations.
Arsys, a Key Player in Gaia-X
Miguel Martínez Vélez, Chief Product Officer (CPO) of Arsys, emphasized the importance of this project:
“Participating in this initiative by managing a cloud environment that guarantees the security and reliability of data exchange is contributing to the development of the European Union with all our experience as pioneers in cloud infrastructure. Gaia-X is setting the pace for the future and immediate competitiveness of the European Union, driving the development of the Data Economy in the most strategic sectors for our growth and highlighting our identity as unique values in the global market.”
Arsys is also actively involved in the working groups of Gaia-X, collaborating on the development of governance, interoperability, and control frameworks, as well as in its Open Source Community, responsible for implementing and testing the software components used in the network nodes.
Alignment with Strategic Sectors
In addition to its technical participation, Arsys is part of the Gaia-X Spain Association, where it contributes to the development of enabling technologies, training, and integration with the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA). Furthermore, it collaborates in key sectorial groups such as Tourism, Mobility, Industry, and Agri-food, consolidating its leadership in the European technological landscape.
A Pillar for Digital Transformation
With over 25 years of experience and 1.3 million active services, Arsys is one of the leading providers of cloud infrastructure solutions in Europe. Its offerings include flexible and customized services such as public, private, and hybrid cloud, virtual desktops, storage, and backupA backup is a security copy created and stored… . Its infrastructure is supported by a global network of over 30 data centers operated by the IONOS Group, ensuring cutting-edge technology for international projects.
Toward European Digital Sovereignty
The integration of the new GXDCH node managed by Arsys strengthens Europe’s commitment to digital sovereignty, a key element in ensuring that the data generated and shared on the continent is managed under European standards of security and privacy. Gaia-X thus positions itself as a fundamental initiative for consolidating the European Union’s competitiveness in an increasingly global market dependent on the efficient and ethical use of data.
With this strategic participation, Arsys not only contributes to building a more robust technological infrastructure but also consolidates its position as a reference point in European digital transformation.
