NetApp enhances data resilience with secure storage

NetApp®, a leading intelligent data infrastructure company, has enhanced its range of cyber resilience solutions to increase security for its customers. Among its new features, the general availability of NetApp ONTAP® Autonomous Ransomware Protection with AI (ARP/AI) stands out, a solution that offers 99% accuracy in ransomware detection.

The new ARP/AI tool allows companies to monitor abnormal activities in their workloads and create automatic data snapshots during an attack, facilitating a quicker response and recovery. Using machine learning, NetApp continuously updates the ARP/AI models, ensuring that customers are protected against the latest ransomware variants without relying on ONTAP updates.

The solution has been evaluated and validated by SE Labs, obtaining a AAA-rated AAA for its ability to detect ransomware with 99% accuracy and no false positives in real operational environments.

NetApp has also updated its ransomware protection service BlueXP, integrating it with Splunk SIEM to facilitate threat response and using artificial intelligence to classify and protect sensitive data. Additionally, User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) capabilities have been added to identify malicious activities through user behavior, enhancing security in combination with ARP/AI.

According to Phil Goodwin, Vice President of Research at IDC, data security has gained prominence among business leaders, and NetApp’s advances in cybersecurity, through the use of artificial intelligence, stand out for their ability to protect business data and ensure operational continuity.
