Stratesys brings together leaders from the pharmaceutical sector at its innovation forum in Barcelona.

On May 9th, in Barcelona, the first annual meeting of the “Life Sciences Innovation CIO Community” was held in 2024, a sector forum organized by the technological multinational Stratesys. The event brought together technology and innovation executives from prominent pharmaceutical companies such as AC Marca, Esteve, Ferrer, Indukern, INKE, ISDIN, Lacer, Mesoestetic, Neuraxpharm, and Noucor, establishing itself as an essential space for the exchange of ideas and strategies on technological evolution and innovation in the industry.

Luis Fernández-Sanguino, partner-director of the Lifesciences industry at Stratesys, was in charge of opening and moderating this meeting, which had the active participation of several CIOs from the sector. During the session, crucial topics such as aligning IT areas with business needs, implementing information systems to support artificial intelligence, and developing digital product teams to improve integration with business areas were discussed.

One of the topics that gained special importance during the forum was the impact of Green IT on the regulated industry, reflecting the increasing concern for sustainable practices in the technological sector.

The event also served to gather valuable ideas and proposals that will be part of an annual industry trends report that Stratesys is preparing to share with the community members.

Fernandez-Sanguino expressed his gratitude to the participants for their enthusiastic contribution: “The success of this session reinforces our belief in the added value that these meeting spaces provide for the community members, which we hope to repeat in the second meeting to be held in October.”

The day concluded with a talk by Orlando Vergara, who shared his experience on transforming teams and businesses over his more than 20 years in the industry. Vergara discussed how companies are no longer just competing among themselves but that ecosystems are battling in the market, emphasizing the importance of leadership that connects people, teams, and resources both internally and externally to generate innovative value propositions.
