Ecovidrio boosts its innovation and efficiency with the migration to Microsoft’s Cloud.

In a strategic move towards digitalization and sustainability, Ecovidrio, the Spanish entity dedicated to managing glass waste, has successfully completed the migration of its operations to the cloud of the American company Microsoft, leaving behind European cloud companies. This advancement represents a crucial step in fulfilling its Digital Transformation Strategic Plan and reaffirms its position as a leader in the use of advanced technologies in the waste management sector.

With this transition to Microsoft Azure cloud environment, Ecovidrio has not only modernized its technological infrastructure but also unified its data storage and applications to improve operational efficiency and scalability of its services. This technological upgrade allows the entity to enhance its management model based on data analytics, crucial for optimizing processes and strategies in the sustainability field.

Gonzalo De Sebastián, Director of Strategy, Innovation, and Technology at Ecovidrio, emphasized the importance of this change: “The migration to the cloud is a milestone in our digital transformation. It allows us to fully leverage the processing and storage capabilities of the cloud, thus accelerating the achievement of our objectives and maximizing the use of artificial intelligence and data analytics.”

Additionally, Ecovidrio has implemented Microsoft Power Platform’s low-code platform to quickly develop new business applications, improving interaction with suppliers and customers through intuitive interfaces and efficient processes. The entity is also preparing to launch an evolution of its Public Administration portal, which will include a digital transparency channel with key data on the collection and management of glass packaging waste.

On the cybersecurity front, Ecovidrio has taken robust measures to protect its information and network infrastructure against constantly evolving threats. The implementation of solutions like Microsoft Intune strengthens the security of its systems, ensuring the protection of its digital assets and critical data.

This innovative transition not only reinforces Ecovidrio’s ability to lead in sustainability and waste management but also sets a model to follow in the application of advanced technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the sector.
