Lima, September 1, 2025. – The Supervisory Agency for Private Investment in Telecommunications (OSIPTEL) reported that the number of fixed internet accesses in the country exceeded 4.19 million connections as of June 2025. This growth, of 10.41% in one year, has been primarily driven by the expansion of fiber optic technology, which now accounts for more than 3.32 million accesses, representing 79.31% of the market.
Fiber Optic Boom and Higher Contracted Speeds
The annual increase in fiber connections was 31.91%, establishing it as the dominant technology for fixed internet access. This has enabled more users to access speeds of 100 Mbps or higher, which now represent over 93% of the total.
In fact, more than 50% of contracted connections surpass 200 Mbps, reflecting the growing demand for high-capacity services in Peruvian homes and businesses.

Wow and Win, Rising Operators
The growth in connections was led by Wow (+218,565) and Win (+140,266) compared to June 2024. In contrast, Movistar lost 155,187 accesses (-11.85%), which caused a decline of 6.95 percentage points in market share, although it remains the market leader with 27.51%.
Together, Wow and Win now account for nearly 34% of the market share, strengthening their position as robust alternatives to traditional operators.
Ucayali, the Region with the Highest Growth
Regions outside Lima and Callao now make up 46.42% of connections (1.95 million), while the capital and port concentrate 53.58% (2.25 million).

The highest year-over-year growth in accesses occurred in:

- Tumbes (+40.13%)
- Loreto (+37.07%)
- Madre de Dios (+28.19%)
Competition in the Fiber Segment
In the fiber optic segment, Wow has established itself as the second-largest provider nationally and is now the leader in 15 departments. Movistar maintains its first position in 4 departments, while MiFibra and Win lead in 2 each (with Win dominating in Lima and Callao). Fiber Optic Amazon and Claro lead in one department each.
